Hillary Clinton defines "lie"

Did you notice in the debate Hillary Clinton's tortured attempt to admit she lied about the Bosnia fantasy?

"And you're right on a couple of occasions in the last weeks I just said some things that weren't in keeping with what I knew to be the case and what I had written about in my book."

Let's see, when you say something that you know not to be true (or in her parlance- "to be the case") that's a lie right?

So in a question about whether she can be trusted she says yes, I lied . . . on multiple occasions . . . a quite fantastic, complex, self-serving lie.

You can see the video here.

he's not running for president. What with her high untrust worthy numbers, it does her no good to be caught in one.

Re: Are you a Christian ? (none / 0)

Re: Hillary Clinton defines "lie" (none / 0)

In Barack Obama's America - there are no lies - it's called change.

She apologized for what she said (none / 0)

when did Barack apologize for anything in the debate? As a matter of fact he lied during the debate, that's not new he lies at least once per debate. He said his handwriting was not on the questionnaire and it has been posted on line for all to see.

If Hillary is a liar then Barack is a lie.

Re: She apologized for what she said (2.00 / 1)

Can we cease and desist on bandying about this "lie" "liar" word.

Those are not words that should be used on democratic blogs about democratic senators.  The author of this diary is a republican troll, but please do not join him/her in that effort

Re: She apologized for what she said (none / 0)

I am certainly not a Republican, actually never even voted for a Republican. Would have voted for John Warner if he hadn't retired, but I don't see a Republican on the horizon who'll get my vote. Did she lie or not? Sure seems like it to me.

Re: Hillary Clinton defines "lie" (none / 0)

It wasn't a small lie. She lied multiple times, with big stories, and was INSISTENT. Pretty scary to me.

Re: Hillary Clinton defines "lie" (none / 0)

I thought she handled this question really well AND she apologized twice. She was humble and forthright in her answer.

Re: Hillary Clinton defines "lie" (none / 0)

Oh, please, people remember stuff wrong all  the time. They remember one way at one time and another way at another time - there's nothing unusual or evil about that. It's the way the human brain works. It happens.

But lie? No, shes pretty pathologically straight forward. It's how she got through the Starr investigation.

Re: Hillary Clinton defines "lie" (none / 0)

That's disrespectful as hell.  I've actually been shot at.  It's not something you forget EVER.

She lied and disrespected every soldier who puts his life on the line and actually DOES get shot at

I often had to dodge gunfire to get to school.  I don't have any problems forgetting that !!

It is something you can easily forget!!

Re: Hillary Clinton defines "lie" (none / 0)

And Barack Obama never heard an incendiary, racist, anti-American word from Pastor Wright?  That's a different kind of lie - one that hasn't been called out yet...

by mikes101 on Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 01:05:55 AM EST

Re: Hillary Clinton defines "lie" (none / 0)

As Wright's not racist you're correct. Unless you think MLK was racist for saying the same thing about white America.

Re: Hillary Clinton defines "lie" (none / 0)

I suppose Osama Bin Laden is not anti-American then either.  He just had a few issues he wanted to politely bring up with us... God Damn America indeed!  Gimme a break - you cannot run for President with a Pastor like Wright who has also been your personal mentor and spiritual advisor for 20 years.  I may understand where he is coming from, but I can guarantee you > 50% of the country does not.  Do you think the American people are so dumb that they do not know what Wright's perspective is?  Do you believe MLK would have condoned a terrorist attack killing 3,000 innocent citizens?

Also Obama apparently lied on his support of a handgun ban in Illinois - his handwriting is on the documents supporting the ban.  Yet again, he says "let's not distract the voters" - and I believe he lied about not supporting the ban.  How about "let's answer some questions?"

I'm sorry is often an acceptable response.
